About Killinkere
Killinkere was built in 1817 in the Gothic Revival style. It has a hall-and-tower form with a three-bay nave, built of rubble sandstone under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a three-stage tower, an open timber roof, crenellated parapets and window tracery. The transept was added in 1866.
The building
The church features a gabled vestry on the north side and a transept added in 1866 to the north-east, attributed to Welland & Gillespie. Interior details include timber king post trusses, a decorative pulpit, and an organ to the south of the altar. The site is flanked by rendered boundary walls with metal finials, a former parochial hall dating to c.1850, and the Killinkere glebe house to the east.
