About Inniscarra Senan

Inniscarra Senan dates from 1819. It has a three-bay nave, built of rubble stone under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a three-stage tower, stained-glass windows, crenellated parapets and pinnacles.

History

St Senan's Church was built in 1819 at a cost of £923/1/6.5, funded by a loan from the Board of First Fruits. It replaced the nearby Church of Ireland church at Inishcarra. The chancel was added in 1893. The building is located on a hill at Canon's Cross and remains in use.
