About Holy Rosary Church, Glenisland
Holy Rosary Church, Glenisland was built in 1820. It has a simple single-cell form under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include stained glass including a rose window, an internal gallery and lancet windows.
History
Built in 1820 in Co. Mayo, the church was originally a four-bay structure with a projecting porch. It was improved in 1927, with works attributed to Edward Keville Dixon, and renovated in 1968 when the sanctuary was reordered. The building retains its early nineteenth-century form and historic fabric.
