About Exaltation of the Holy Cross Church, Stradbally
Exaltation of the Holy Cross Church, Stradbally was built around 1830. It has a simple single-cell form. Notable features include a three-stage tower, stained-glass windows, an internal gallery and pinnacles.
The building
The interior has a coffered ceiling and a pointed chancel arch with moulded plaster reveals, leading to an apse with a vaulted plaster ceiling. The grounds are enclosed by a random-rubble stone boundary wall, and the graveyard contains cut-stone markers dating from about 1830 and later.
