About St. Anne's Church, Ballylaneen
St. Anne's Church, Ballylaneen was built in 1826. It has a cruciform plan with a two-bay nave and rendered walls under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a two-stage tower, stained-glass windows, a bellcote and an internal gallery.
The building
The church features a cut-stone date stone and a bellcote with a cast-iron bell on the entrance tower. The interior was reordered c.1975, introducing carved timber pews, stations, and a Gothic-style reredos. A single-storey lean-to entrance bay was added to the sacristy c.2000. The site includes a graveyard with cut-stone markers dating from c.1830 to the present.
