About Drumlane (Killynagher)
Drumlane (Killynagher) was built in 1821. It has an L-shaped plan with a three-bay nave and rendered walls under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a three-stage tower, an internal gallery, an open timber roof and crenellated parapets. The vestry was added in 1863.
History
Designed by John Bowden and built by contractor John Dolittle in 1821, the church was funded by the Board of First Fruits. A north transept and vestry were added in 1862-63 to designs by Welland & Gillespie, executed by William Hague. The site also contains a single-storey stone structure that apparently once functioned as a school and parochial hall.
