About Douglas St Luke

Douglas St Luke was built around 1875. It has a cruciform plan, built of squared limestone under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a four-stage tower, stained-glass windows and buttressed walls. The tower and spire was added in 1885.

History

The church was apparently designed by architect Osborne Cadwallader Edwards and consecrated in 1875. The tower and spire were added in 1885 by W.H. Hill. The site includes an associated graveyard and sexton's house.
