About St. Joseph’s Church, Blackrock Road
St. Joseph’s Church, Blackrock Road was built in 1881. The church has rendered walls. Notable features include a bell tower, stained-glass windows, an internal gallery and lancet windows.
The building
The chapel includes projecting porches and ancillary two-storey accommodation. Inside, a steeply pitched hammerbeam roof spans the space and the gallery carries a cast-iron balustrade. Snecked stonework survives on the exterior.
