About Corpus Christi Church
Corpus Christi Church was built around 1932. It has a cruciform plan and rendered walls. Notable features include a four-stage tower. It was designed by Martin McGuire.
History
The present church replaced an earlier T-plan Catholic church dating from about 1830. The limestone boundary wall, cast-iron railings, moulded gate posts and entrance gates survive from that predecessor and are dated around 1860.
