About Church of the Transfiguration
Church of the Transfiguration is a Roman Catholic parish church in Clondalkin, Co. Dublin. It is part of the Dublin Archdiocese.
History
The parish of Bawnogue was constituted in 1977 from Clondalkin. The church building was commissioned in May 1979. Its foundation stone was blessed by Pope John Paul II at Maynooth in 1979 and was laid in position in March 1980 by Archbishop Dermot Ryan. The Spiritan Order began ministering in Bawnogue in 1988.
