About Church of the Sacred Heart, Mullinabreena
Church of the Sacred Heart, Mullinabreena was built around 1890. It has a three-bay nave and rendered walls under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include stained-glass windows, a bellcote and lancet windows.
The building
The sacristy has a pointed-arch doorway and the porch a flat-headed opening, both fitted with vertically sheeted hardwood doors. Inside, a scissor-truss roof stands on corbels above panelled ceiling sections, while decorative cast-iron railings and gates line the roadside boundary.
