About Church of the Sacred Heart, Crossboyne
Church of the Sacred Heart, Crossboyne was built between 1826 and 1827. It has a cruciform plan with a two-bay nave. Notable features include a three-stage tower, stained-glass windows and lancet windows.
History
The church was erected by Reverend Andrew Gavin. Around the turn of the twentieth century a slender, pyramid-topped tower was added to a design by James Purcell Wrenn, work identified through comparison of successive Ordnance Survey editions.
