About Church of the Immaculate Heart of Mary
Church of the Immaculate Heart of Mary is a Catholic church at Killannin, Co. Galway, in the Killannin parish of the Diocese of Galway, Kilmacduagh and Kilfenora. Sunday Mass is at 11:00am, with the Saturday vigil at 10:00am. Designed by T. J. Cullen & Co., Dublin, for Fr J. O’Reilly, the church was opened by Bishop Michael Browne on 2 February 1969. Built by James Farragher & Co. of Tuam at a cost of £60,000, it reflects the post-Vatican II style with open space and a freestanding altar of Connemara marble recalling Penal-era Mass rocks.
