About Church of the Assumption, Slieverue

Church of the Assumption, Slieverue was built in 1800. It has a cruciform plan with a three-bay nave and rendered walls. Notable features include stained-glass windows and a bellcote.

History

An extensive renovation in 1994 replaced the roof covering with artificial slate, renewed the external render and timber double doors, and added rooflights. The interior retains shallow concave first-floor balconies carried on octagonal pillars at the transepts.
