About Cathedral of the Most Holy Trinity, Waterford
Cathedral of the Most Holy Trinity, Waterford was built in 1793 in the Classical style. It has a six-bay nave and rendered walls under a hipped slate roof. Notable features include stained-glass windows, an internal gallery and an organ. It was designed by John Roberts.
The building
Designed by John Roberts, this Classical cathedral was built in 1793 on a T-shaped plan. It was extended in 1829 with a chancel and renovated in 1854 with an apse. A five-bay Ionic frontispiece was added between 1893 and 1897. The interior features a groin-vaulted ceiling, Corinthian columns, and an 1870 organ. Stained glass windows by the Meyer Company of Munich were installed in 1885.
