The building
The Church of the Assumption in Ballinlough, Co. Wicklow, is a detached cruciform-plan structure built c.1830. It features roughcast rendered walls with limestone quoins and a pitched slate roof. The gable-fronted entrance is flanked by projecting towers with castellations and pinnacles. Pointed arch windows and limestone dressings articulate the façade. Porch additions serve the gabled entrance and transepts, while a sacristy addition is located to the north-east. A graveyard is situated on the site.
