About Church of St. John the Baptist, Newcestown
Church of St. John the Baptist, Newcestown dates from 1872 and is built in the Gothic Revival style. It has a cruciform plan with a four-bay nave, built of squared sandstone under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a four-stage bell tower, stained glass including a rose window, an internal gallery and a marble altar. The church stands in its own graveyard.
