About Church of St Clement
Church of St Clement was built between 1858 and 1859. It has a simple single-cell form, built of squared stone under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include stained-glass windows, a bellcote and an internal gallery.
Notable people
The church was erected under the aegis of Reverend Abraham Brownrigg PP (d. 1859) with financial support from Sir Robert Shapland Carew of Castleboro House. Interior wall monuments commemorate Reverend Thomas Hore PP (d. 1864) and Reverend John Doyle PP (d. 1869). The altar (1909) is attributed to Ashlin and Coleman of Dawson Street, Dublin, and the East Window (1906) is a Doyle-Sweetman memorial.
