About Adare Methodist Church
Adare Methodist Church was built in 1873. It has a three-bay nave, built of squared limestone under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include lancet windows.
History
Designed by architect William Fogerty, the church replaced an earlier structure located slightly outside the town. The foundation stone was laid in 1873 by the Countess of Dunraven. John Wesley, founder of the Methodist Church, apparently visited Adare on several occasions, reflecting the town's long tradition of Methodist worship.
