About Whitechurch

Whitechurch dates from 1740. It has a simple single-cell form under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a two-stage tower, crenellated parapets, pinnacles and window tracery.

Notable features

The interior contains cut-white marble Classical-style wall monuments from 1808 and 1810, commemorating the Drakes of Stokestown House and the Glascotts of Alderton House. A Commonwealth War Grave marker commemorates Sergeant James Cooney of the Royal Air Force, who died in 1943. The church is set in landscaped grounds on a corner site.
