About The Immaculate Conception
The Immaculate Conception was built around 1840. It has a cruciform plan with a four-bay nave. Notable features include a bellcote, pinnacles and buttressed walls.
The building
The church was extended c.1880 with elongated transepts and renovated c.1980 with a flat-roofed sacristy addition. It features roughcast walls, cut-stone dressings, and lancet-arch windows. The site includes a freestanding Marian grotto c.1955 and a group of three cut-stone grave markers c.1860 to the north-west.
