About Stradbally All Saints (Castleconnell)
Stradbally All Saints (Castleconnell) was built in 1809. It has a five-bay nave and rendered walls under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include stained-glass windows, an internal gallery and crenellated parapets.
History
The church was enlarged in 1826 and 1844 by James Pain, who also designed a monument to Anne, Countess of Clare, and a burial vault for General Sir Richard Bourke. Welland and Gillespie were involved in works to the chancel in 1863. The building is attributed to the Board of First Fruits style.
