About Star of the Sea Church, Rathlee
Star of the Sea Church, Rathlee was built around 1890. It has a simple single-cell form and rendered walls under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include stained-glass windows, a bellcote and an internal gallery.
The building
The north porch and west elevation have pointed-arched doorways with splayed or stepped-splayed reveals and vertically sheeted double doors. Inside, a pointed chancel arch leads to the altar area, and the ceiling is timber sheeted.
