About St. Patrick's, Kiltyclogher
St. Patrick's, Kiltyclogher was built around 1840. It has a six-bay nave, built of sandstone under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include stained-glass windows, an open timber roof and buttressed walls. The church stands in its own graveyard.
The building
Constructed of local sandstone from the former Killea quarry, the church exhibits mid-nineteenth-century Gothic Revival architecture. It features stepped gables with stone cross finials, stone corbels, and a cast-iron bell to the south. The interior contains an open timber trussed roof and an altar located unusually at the south end. The site is bounded by a pebbledashed wall with piers and a cast-iron gate.
