About St. Aidan’s Church, Ballaghameehan
St. Aidan’s Church, Ballaghameehan was built in 1831. It has a simple single-cell form and rendered walls under a pitched tiled roof. Notable features include stained glass including a rose window, a bellcote and an internal gallery.
The building
The original south entrance retains a replacement timber-battened door. Inside, the square-ended chancel has exposed stone walls beneath open timber scissor roof trusses, with the altar at the south end.
