About St Patrick's Church, Elphin
St Patrick's Church, Elphin was built in 1894. It has a cruciform plan with a nine-bay nave, built of limestone under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a four-stage tower, stained-glass windows and lancet windows.
Notable features
The tower has raised gables with cast-iron finials and cast-iron ridge cresting, together with a statue set in a niche. A porch on the north-west contains a plaque, while the graveyard to the south includes a cut-stone sarcophagus and the front boundary retains railings, gates and carved stone piers.
