About St. Mary
St. Mary was built around 1840. The church has rendered walls under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include stained-glass windows, a bellcote and buttressed walls.
The building
The interior is plain, with an altar at the east end and a timber-sheeted ceiling. The church is set back from the road behind a random-rubble boundary wall topped by cast-iron railings, and access is through paired gates with decorative cast-iron square-profile piers.
