About St. MacCullin

St. MacCullin was built in 1924 in the Romanesque Revival style. The church is built of squared granite under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a three-stage tower, stained-glass windows and an internal gallery.

History

The name Lusk derives from the Irish Lusca, meaning a cave or underground chamber. The parish traces the name to 450 AD, when Saint Mac Cullin founded a church in the village, and records a belief that he lived in or was buried in a cave.
