About St Eoghan, Kilmoganny
St Eoghan, Kilmoganny was built in 1883. It has a cruciform plan with a three-bay nave under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include stained glass including a rose window, a bellcote and lancet windows.
History
The church was built in 1883 and may have repurposed an earlier chapel extant in 1839. This earlier structure is suggested by the cruciform plan and its alignment on a liturgically-incorrect axis. The interior was reordered in accordance with liturgical reforms sanctioned by the Second Ecumenical Council of the Vatican (1962-5).
