About St Crone’s, Arranmore Island
St Crone’s, Arranmore Island was built around 1825. It has a cruciform plan with a three-bay nave and rendered walls under a pitched artificial slate roof. Notable features include stained-glass windows and carved Stations of the Cross.
History
The church was extended around 1917, when transepts and other projecting elements were added to the earlier hall-type building. Its interior was reordered around 1980, and a memorial relating to the Arranmore Disaster of 1935.
