About St. Colmcille’s Church, Ballinahown
St. Colmcille’s Church, Ballinahown was built around 1902. It has a four-bay nave under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a two-stage tower with a spire, stained-glass windows, an internal gallery and an open timber roof.
History
The church was designed by William Hague and completed after his death by his younger partner T. F. McNamara. It replaced a T-plan church of about 1825. The foundation stone was laid on 11 October 1896, the building opened on 15 October 1902, and it was built for Very Revd Canon M. Columb.
