About St. Colmcille, Geesala
St. Colmcille, Geesala dates from 1930. It has a two-bay nave and rendered walls under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include stained-glass windows, an open timber roof and lancet windows.
History
The church was erected to designs prepared in 1930 by Ralph Henry Byrne of Suffolk Street, Dublin. Its interior was later reordered in accordance with Second Vatican Council reforms, while the plan is a modified T-shape with Tudor Gothic treatment.
