About St Colman’s, Kilcolman
St Colman’s, Kilcolman was built in 1913 in the Gothic Revival style. It has a cruciform plan with a four-bay nave under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include stained-glass windows, a bellcote and an internal gallery.
History
St Colman’s was built in 1913 under the leadership of Fr Jeremiah Murphy. The builder was John Ryan & Sons and the architect was Brian Sheehy, according to the inscription on the foundation stone. The church occupies a prominent position at the crossroads in the village of Kilcolman, Co. Cork.
