About St Brigid’s Church, Drumcong

St Brigid’s Church, Drumcong was built in 1781. It has a cruciform plan and rendered walls under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a tower and stained glass including a rose window. The transepts was added in 1890.

The building

The nave has an unusual north–south alignment. Tooled stone surrounds articulate the window and door openings, while decorative cast-iron gates, boundary walls and the graveyard complete the site enclosure.
