About Saint Joseph, Carrickmacross
Saint Joseph, Carrickmacross was built between 1861 and 1866. It has a cruciform plan, built of squared limestone under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a four-stage tower with a broach spire, stained glass including a rose window, an internal gallery and a marble altar.
Notable features
The interior includes sandstone arcades carried on round piers with moulded octagonal capitals, three carved marble reredoses, a marble pulpit and sculpted font, and carved timber galleries.
