About St. Gobnait's Church
St. Gobnait's Church was built in 1883. It has a two-bay nave under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include stained-glass windows and mosaic work.
History
Designed by Walter Glynn Doolin of Dublin, the church was erected in 1883 for Reverend Richard O'Gorman. It apparently repurposed an earlier chapel built in 1825 for Reverend James McCann to designs by J. Atkins. The interior was later reordered in accordance with liturgical reforms sanctioned by the Second Ecumenical Council of the Vatican.
