About Kilmactranny
Kilmactranny was built around 1810. It has a three-bay nave, built of rubble stone under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a two-stage tower, crenellated parapets, pinnacles and window tracery.
The building
This Church of Ireland church was built c. 1810 and comprises a three-bay nave with a chancel to the east, a two-stage square-plan tower to the west, and a lean-to vestry added to the north side of the tower c. 1950. The nave has ogee-headed window openings to the south, while the chancel window features three-panel Y-tracery with three quatrefoils. The church stands on an elevated site with a burial ground enclosed by rubble stone boundary walls and wrought-iron gates.
