About Killaghtee St Peter (Dunkineely)
Killaghtee St Peter (Dunkineely) was built between 1826 and 1827. The church has rendered walls under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a three-stage tower, stained-glass windows, an internal gallery and crenellated parapets.
The building
The graveyard contains nineteenth- and twentieth-century upright, table and recumbent markers, some enclosed by iron railings. A rubble-stone boundary wall surrounds the site, and the south-west gateway has square-plan ashlar piers with pyramidal capstones and hooped wrought-iron gates.
