About Kentstown St Mary
Kentstown St Mary was built around 1795. The church is built of stone under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a tower and pinnacles.
History
The church was remodelled c.1850. A plaque on the tower records that Sir James Quayle Somerville Baronet built the steeple in 1797. The site includes a graveyard with carved head stones and is enclosed by rubble stone boundary walls with paired dressed limestone gate piers and cast-iron gates.
