About Immaculate Heart of Mary, Bohermore
Immaculate Heart of Mary, Bohermore was built in 1874 in the Gothic Revival style. It has a six-bay nave and rendered walls under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a bellcote and lancet windows.
The building
This freestanding gable-fronted church features a six-bay nave with rendered walls, limestone quoins, and a pitched slate roof topped with wrought-iron cross finials. The west elevation includes a limestone open work bellcote and a pointed arch entrance with double-leaf timber battened doors. A single-storey lean-to on the north side has an octagonal limestone chimneystack, while the site is enclosed by rubble limestone boundary walls and cast-iron gates.
