About Enniskeen St Ernan (Kingscourt)
Enniskeen St Ernan (Kingscourt) was built in 1780 in the Gothic Revival style. It has a three-bay nave, built of rubble stone under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a four-stage tower, stained-glass windows, an internal gallery and crenellated parapets. The church stands in its own graveyard.
Notable features
The church retains original timber furnishings including altar railings, a lectern, pews and a pulpit. The interior features a bowed timber gallery with panelled balustrade supported on scalloped capital posts. Stained glass windows were inserted c.1980 in the east elevation, while the apse contains a tripartite window with elaborate stained glass. The graveyard holds funerary monuments of the Pratt family, former landlords in the area.
