About Dunfanaghy Presbyterian Church
Dunfanaghy Presbyterian Church was built between 1875 and 1878. The church is built of squared stone under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a bell tower with a spire, stained glass including a rose window, window tracery and buttressed walls. It was designed by Robert Young.
History
Minister Revd William Kane specifically asked architect Robert Young to use Romanesque rather than Gothic forms. The church used stone from a local quarry with granite facings brought from Aberdeenshire. Repairs, including a new roof, were carried out in 1910 to designs by Robinson and Davidson of Derry.
