About Drum
Drum was built in 1828 in the Gothic Revival style. It has a two-bay nave, built of rubble stone. Notable features include a three-stage tower, an internal gallery, an open timber roof and crenellated parapets.
The building
This Church of Ireland church was built in 1828 with a grant from the Board of First Fruits, serving as a chapel of ease for Scotshouse. Stone for the original structure was sourced from a local quarry. A three-bay side aisle was added to the south in 1860 to designs by William Welland in the Early English Gothic style. The interior features a carved timber gallery with Doric-style piers and an arch-braced truss roof.
