About Corpus Christi
Corpus Christi was built between 1938 and 1941 in the Romanesque Revival style. It has a cruciform plan with a five-bay nave, built of ashlar granite. Notable features include an internal gallery, pinnacles and lancet windows.
Notable features
The nave, transepts and apse have barrel vaults divided into octagonal coffers. A shallow dome rises over the crossing, with plaster reliefs of the four Evangelists in the pendentives, while the sanctuary arch carries lettering above the recessed apse and baldachin.
