About Church of the Visitation, Cloneen
Church of the Visitation, Cloneen was built in 1815. It has a cruciform plan with a four-bay nave and rendered walls under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include stained-glass windows and a bellcote.
The building
The roof carries terracotta ridge cresting and carved limestone cross finials at the gables. At the front, a rendered boundary wall supports spear-headed cast-iron railings and double gates between rendered piers, while the transept doorways have rendered tympanums.
