About Church of the Sacred Heart, Kilmainhamwood
Church of the Sacred Heart, Kilmainhamwood was built in 1898 in the Gothic Revival style. The church is built of limestone under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a bellcote, buttressed walls and lancet windows.
The building
The nave has six-bay side elevations with projecting porch and sacristy elements. An ashlar plinth course and carved eaves dentils articulate the exterior, while the principal doorway is pointed-arched and contains a pair of timber doors.
