About Church of St Brendan
Church of St Brendan dates from 1845. It has a three-bay nave under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include stained-glass windows, a bellcote and lancet windows.
The building
This detached four-bay Catholic church stands on a T-shaped plan with a nave opening into transepts centred on a chancel. The exterior features gritdashed roughcast walls, cut-granite coping, and a gabled bellcote topped by a Celtic Cross. Inside, the nave contains cruciform-detailed timber pews and an exposed strutted King post timber roof construction.
