About Carrigrohane St Peter
Carrigrohane St Peter was built in 1854. It has a three-bay nave, built of rubble stone under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a two-stage tower, stained-glass windows, window tracery and buttressed walls.
History
Built in 1854 by Joseph Welland on the site of an earlier medieval church, the structure was extended in 1868 by William Burges. This later work added a low side aisle and vestry, during which time stained glass by Saunders and Holiday was inserted into the chancel window.
