About Calry (Sligo)
Calry (Sligo) was built in 1824. It has a simple single-cell form, built of rubble limestone under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a three-stage tower, crenellated parapets, pinnacles and window tracery.
The building
The detached five-bay Church of Ireland church stands on an elevated site overlooking the Garavogue River. It features a square three-stage tower with an octagonal steeple and an ashlar limestone spire terminating in a ball finial. The structure includes crenellated parapets, crocketed pinnacles, and perpendicular tracery in the chancel. Boundary walls and wrought-iron gates enclose the grounds.
