About Ballywalter Holy Trinity

Ballywalter Holy Trinity is a Church of Ireland church in Ballywalter, County Down. It is in the Diocese of Down & Dromore.

The building

The church was designed by the architect William Burn, and the parish describes it as one of the few churches in Ireland to his design. A memorial garden in the grounds holds unmarked plots for the burial of ashes.

Notable features

A wooden battlefield cross brought home from the First World War stands beneath the war memorial window. Some of the windows were made by the Victorian stained glass firm Heaton, Butler and Bayne. The organ was built to imitate the sound of a much larger instrument.

Clergy

  • Incumbent Rev Adrian Green
